How has digital technology impacted your teens’ approach to life and relationships?
In the age of digital connectedness, the way we navigate life and form and maintain relationships with others has changed drastically. As opposed to previous decades, currently, people turn to the internet to connect with others.
While the ease of staying connected to the world via technology has its benefits, it also has drawbacks. It’s important for young people, who are more device-dependent than generations past, to be aware of the pros and cons of digital connections, and know that they can turn to their parents and other trusted sources for guidance on wise tech usage.
In this session, Dr. Felicia Song (professor of sociology at Westmont College, speaker, and author) talks about how digital technology impacts how teens approach faith, influences how they form relationships, and impacts how they view the world. Dr. Song offers parents helpful tips for navigating technology with the young adults in their life.
